OVERVIEW
Himuro Tatsuya is Yōsen's second-year shooting guard and the team's only perimeter ace. He is 183 cm, with a 10/10 technique mark, and a smile that does not reach the shot. He taught Kagami Taiga basketball in America, then came home as the brother Kagami has to beat.
His Mirage Shot and perfect fakes live off that technique rating. He is the scoring half of Yōsen's Aegis: Murasakibara owns the paint, Himuro owns everything outside it.
NAME ETYMOLOGY
Himuro (氷室): The kanji 氷 (Hi) means "ice" and 室 (Muro) means "room"—a cold name for a shooter who never looks hurried.
Yōsen Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Yōsen's roster members share names with ramen chefs and restaurants in Japan — a food theme that fits Murasakibara's appetite — Ramen Himuro is a shop in Hokkaido.
Brothers: 氷 is ice and 辰 is the dragon. Kagami's name carries fire (火) and tiger (Taiga). Fire and ice, tiger and dragon — the Eastern yin-and-yang pair — paint the two brothers as opposite sides of the same coin.
Tatsuya (辰也): The kanji 辰 (Tatsu) is the dragon of the zodiac, and 也 (Ya) is a classical sentence particle.

Q1. [Appearing suddenly out of nowhere] Himuro-san, congratulations on taking 2nd place [in the Shooting Guard poll]. How do you feel right now?
Himuro:Whoa!... What the... Don't surprise me like that. 2nd place, huh... I'd be lying if I said I had zero complaints, but overall, I'm mostly just happy.
Q2. What do you consider your greatest strength?
Himuro: Hmm... probably the fact that I hate losing.
Q3. So, is there anything you would like to improve in the future?
Himuro:Because I lived in America for so long, there are still parts of Japanese rules and culture I'm not quite used to yet.
Q4. Who is the opponent you least want to lose to?
Himuro: Taiga, definitely. We lost at the Winter Cup, and I felt the difference in our current strengths, but even so, I still want to win.
Q5. Looking back on the Winter Cup, how do you feel now?
Himuro: It's frustrating. Next time, I will definitely win.
Q6. After the Winter Cup, what did you talk about with Kagami-kun and Alex-san?
Himuro: I congratulated Taiga and talked about things like the game. Things got a bit heated at times, but Alex stepped in to stop us. She kept saying how glad she was that she came to Japan.
Q7. We heard you met Nijimura-san in America, did anything happen after that?
Himuro: No, not really. We exchanged email addresses, telling each other to get in touch if there was ever any trouble, but we only exchange the occasional casual email. I think he's doing well.
Q8. What kind of power is hidden in your concealed left eye?
Himuro:..? I'm not really sure what you mean... Do you want me to show you my left eye? (He shows it. Kuroko's eyes widen slightly.)
Q9. Please tell us your goals moving forward.
Himuro: Of course I want to beat Taiga, but naturally, my goal in every tournament is to win the championship.
Q10. Please give a message to your fans.
Himuro: Thank you. I'm really happy to have so many people supporting me. I'll work hard so that I can come in first next time.
