OVERVIEW
Takao Kazunari is Shūtoku's first-year point guard, defined by his sharp eyes and dark hari. He has the special ability Hawk Eye: a full-court view that lets him see Kuroko even when Misdirection is on.
He is a cheerful, easygoing guy who likes to tease Midorima (whom he affectionately calls "Shin-chan"), while carting him around in a rickshaw.
NAME ETYMOLOGY

OFFICIAL KUROFES INTERVIEW

Q1: [Appearing suddenly out of nowhere] Takao-kun, congratulations on taking second place [in the point guard poll]. How do you feel right now?
Takao:(Not surprised) Well, that's a shame, huh? (laughs) You can't escape the Hawk Eye. Just kididng. Ah, thanks. I'm happy with second place.
Q2: What do you think is your greatest strength?
Takao: Hmm... I'm not shy or awkward around people, I guess?
Q3: So, is there anything you would like to improve upon in the future?
Takao:On the other hand, some people might think I'm being too friendly... It's a matter of personal space, I guess.
Q4: Who is the opponent you hate losing to the most?
Takao:You, of course! (laughs)
Q5: Please say a few words about the results of the Winter Cup?
Takao:Dude... coming from the guy who won the whole thing, that's quite something to say to someone who came third (laughs). All I can say is, I'm frustrated about it. Next year, we're winning!
Q6: Did any of your teammates say anything about your second-place result in the PG category?
Takao: Eh, not really. Shin-chan just went 'hmph,' or something (laughs). The senpais basically just went 'oh-'. That's about it.
Q7: Can you tell me the name of the special move you and Midorima showed off in the Rakuzan game?
Takao: Read Volume 29, man (laughs) - it's right there. I don't really want to say stuff like that myself - it's embarrassing (laughs).
Q8: Aren't you embarrassed to always be pulling the rickshaw?
Takao: Ah, I'm totally used to it. It's half for fun anyway. Also, I won't say exactly what it is - I don't want him finding out - but I've started picking up Shin-chan's habits lately (at rock-paper-scissors) and my win rate's gone up. He's always tilting his head in confusion (laughs).
Q9: Please tell us about your goals for the future.
Takao: There are plenty of tournaments, but I guess Inter-High is the big one. There are so many teams I want to beat and others I want revenge against. That goes for you too, you know - why are you giving me that 'Oh, really?' look? (laughs)
Q10: Please give a message to all your fans.
Takao: Thanks for second place in the category! After placing 3rd (in the 3rd popularity poll), and then 2nd, I guess 1st place is next, right? (laughss)! I'll keep doing my best, so please keep supporting me!
