Aomine Daiki was the ace player of the renowned Generation of Miracles at Teikō Junior High and currently serves as the power forward and unstoppable star player of Tōō Academy. Tall, dark-skinned, and muscular, Aomine boasts navy blue hair and an unmistakable relaxed, arrogant slouch when off the court.
Having honed his basketball instincts playing streetball from a young age, Aomine possesses unrivaled agility, change of pace, and the unique ability to sink impossible Formless Shots from virtually any angle or distance, even behind the backboard. Formerly a passionate lover of basketball, his overwhelming talent left him demoralized by a lack of worthy opponents, breeding a cynical mindset until his fateful showdowns against Seirin.
NAME ETYMOLOGY
Aomine (青峰): The kanji 青 (Ao) means "blue", matching his hair color and standard Generation of Miracles color theme. The kanji 峰 (Mine) means "peak" or "mountain summit," symbolic of his position at the apex of individual offensive capability.
Teikō Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Teikō's core names are colors, Aomine's 青 is "blue."
Tōō Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Tōō's core roster members are named after shrines and temples in Japan, 青峰山根香寺 (Aominezan Nekoroji) is a temple in Kagawa.
Daiki (大輝): The kanji 大 (Dai) means "big" or "great." The kanji 輝 (Ki) means "brightness" or "radiance", alluding to the fact that he was Kuroko's past "light." Together, his given name means "Great Radiance."

Q1: How do you spend your days off?
Aomine: Sleeping. ...And then Satsuki often comes to wake me up and drags me around to whatever plans she made.
Q2: What got you into basketball?
Aomine: I forgot. By the time I realized it, I was already playing.
Q3: Who in the Generation of Miracles are you closest to?
Aomine: Tetsu, I guess.
Q4: For that matter, who in the Generation of Miracles do you dislike the most?
Aomine: Midorima.
Q5: What's your favorite memory from middle school?
Aomine: The time we went to the festival.
Q6: Who are you closest to on your current team?
Aomine: Ryo, probably. Plus, his bento is delicious.

Q1: [Appearing suddenly out of nowhere] Aomine-kun, congratulations on getting second place [in the power forward poll]. How do you feel right now?
Aomine: Owa! …Damn, you really don’t change, do you? Even if it’s a poll, I’m not happy with second place. And first place was Kagami, right? Damn.
Q2: It's a bit late to ask, but what do you think is your greatest strength?
Aomine: Huh? Probably my healthy body. I didn’t get a cold even when I fell asleep on the roof in winter. Though I only did that once.
