OVERVIEW
Tsuchida Satoshi is Seirin's second-year power forward and a former regular. Quiet, thick-browed, and usually drawn with his eyes already at maximum openness (which isn't very wide), he joined after watching the club shout its goal at the morning ceremony.
Like Koganei, he only started basketball in high school. Riko tells the first-years that his specialty is rebounding, and he spent a full year drilling that skill. Against Seihō he also knocks down mid-range shots while the second-years chase revenge for the previous year's loss.
NAME ETYMOLOGY
Tsuchida (土田): The kanji 土 (Tsuchi) means "earth" or "soil," and 田 (Da) means "rice field."
Seirin Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Seirin's core roster members feature a day of the week in their surnames, Tsuchida's 土 represents Saturday (土曜日, Doyōbi).
Satoshi (聡史): The kanji 聡 (Sato) means "intelligent" and 史 (Shi) means "history," a quiet fit for a player who does the unglamorous work without needing the spotlight.
