OVERVIEW

Takeuchi Genta is Kaijō High's head coach and Japanese-history teacher.

He is blunt, allergic to exercise, and better with people than the scowl suggests. His motto is the enemy is within oneself. Kasamatsu wanted to quit after a mistake; Takeuchi made him captain instead. He keeps the same eye on Hayakawa.
