Kise Ryōta is the versatile small forward and star player of Kaijō High, as well as a former member of Teikō's famous Generation of Miracles. Strikingly handsome with bright yellow-blonde hair and a pierced left ear, Kise doubles as a famous professional model off the court, possessing a naturally carefree, outgoing personality.

NAME ETYMOLOGY
Kise (黄瀬): The kanji 黄 (Ki) means "yellow," matching his signature hair color and Generation of Miracles color theme. The kanji 瀬 (Se) means "rapids" or "current," symbolizing his fast-moving, highly adaptable playstyle.
Teikō Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Teikō's core names are colors, Kise's 黄 is "yellow."
Kaijō Naming Pattern: Following a hidden theme where Kaijō's core roster members are named after rivers in Japan, 黄瀬川 (Kise River) is in Shizuoka. The 瀬 in his name means "current." The 海 in Kaijō itself means "ocean."
Ryōta (涼太): The kanji 涼 (Ryō) means "cool" or "refreshing," highlighting his breezy, charming idol image and effortless charisma. The kanji 太 (Ta) means "great" or "grand," a common masculine name component emphasizing strength.

Q1: How do you spend your days off?
Kise: I hang out around Shibuya and places like that - just wandering around or going on dates... oh, and I also do modelling too.
Q2: What got you into basketball?
Kise: After seeing Aomine-cchi play!
Q3: Who in the Generation of Miracles are you closest to?
Kise: Kuroko-cchi, of course!
Q4: For that matter, who in the Generation of Miracles do you dislike the most?
Kise: I guess... Midorima-cchi?
Q5: What's your favorite memory from middle school?
Kise: Aside from basketball, I guess the school festival was fun?
Q6: Who are you closest to on your current team?
Kise: Well for starters, I always get kicked by Kasamatsu-senpai...
Q7: What's your type?
Kise: A girl who won't tie me down, I guess.
Q8: What do you enjoy most, besides basketball?
Kise: Maybe... karaoke?

Kise:I don't really use my head much I guess...

Q1: [Appearing suddenly out of nowhere] Kise-kun, congratulations on winning 1st place [in the Small Forward poll]. How do you feel right now?
Kise: Whaa! Don't go startling me like that, Kuroko-cchi. I'm absolutely thrilled!
Q2: What do you think is your greatest strength? Please don't say "everything" - that would be annoying.
Kise: Hey... isn't your attitude toward me kind of cold?! Um... I guess it's the fact that I look cool, but I'm actually a really hard worker.
Q3: ...So, is there anything you'd like to improve upon going forward?
Kise: Hey, you just make a face that clearly showed you didn't like that, didn't you! I do want to do something about the fat that I sometimes come across as a bit of a playboy.
Who is the one person you least want to lose to, Kise-kun?
Kise: It ends up being two people... Kagami-cchi and Aomine-cchi!
Q5: Could you say a few words on the Winter Cup results?
Kise: Well, thinking back on it is still a bit painful, you know? So next time, I definitely don't want to lose.
Q6: What is your go-to karaoke song?
Kise: It's "Perfect Copy" of course!
Q7: (sigh) Have you ever used your speciality in mineral water tasting to do anything?
Kise: Don't sigh! Besides, isn't that question just a snide remark?
Q8: How many girls have you made cry so far?
Kise: Are you annoyed, Kuroko-cchi?! For starters, I don't go around hanging out with girls like that, and the answer to the third question is pretty much along those lines too.
Q9: Please tell us your goals for the future. Also, are you still going to continue modelling?
Kise: I'm going to pay back all the debts I've I made. And, of course, I'm going to win every tournament. So the modelling thing... I guess it doesn't really matter to me anymore -it's not like I was ever that into it to begin with.

Kise: Thanks for the support - I took first place in the SF category! I hope to keep being loved by everyone and - wait, Kuroko-cchi, why are you already getting ready to leave?! I was still in the middle of saying... Kuroko-cchi!! (sob)
